The One Man And His Boat Christmas Eve special. Jeff joins Baz on the Lynsey B for a spot of festive fun out on the North Sea.
With the storm now over Baz heads out to check his creels and he comes across a new phenomenon that many fishermen along the Firth of Forth and North Sea have been coming across and that is berried hens with orange eggs (unfertilised eggs).
The weather has been unusually calm over the past couple of weeks but it's all about to change, so Baz has to move his gear around to keep it safe when the weather turns.
On a cold and crisp winter's morning, Barry and the Lynsey B headed out to the fishing grounds off of Dunbar Harbour.
The calm, sunny weather is very usual in November for this part of Scotland and is sometimes referred to as an Indian Summer.
The good weather has given Barry a decision to make, to play safe and put his gear in the deep water or put some of it closer to shore. Decisions indeed!
This week Baz is busy putting his six fleets back in the water after he decided to protect his gear when some bad weather hit the East Lothian coast. He has been thinking about how he is going to fish this winter and he has come up with a cunning plan.
This episode is number 300. The 300th video we've produced since it all began back in April 2019.
A member of the Dunbar fleet had a problem while out and it was the Lynsey B who was on hand to give the stranded vessel a tow back to harbour.
Baz and Jeff head out on the Lynsey B as the weather and the tides are still causing some issues. Baz also takes the Lynsey B into an area near the harbour that he used to fish as a boy.

Baz and the Lynsey B head out for another day out on the North. A beautiful dawn should've meant the day started on a high note, but an issue with the way the boat was tied to the pier by another fisherman put Baz in a bad mood for a little while.

A short weather window is about to close so Barry takes the Lynsey B out to check on the ten fleets that are soaking in deep water and see how they are fishing. However with the wind picking up and the tide in the opposite direction it is far from plain sailing out on the North Sea.
It's time for Baz to take the Lynsey B out to check on the first set of creels to see if they are ready to fish. It was a beautiful sunrise in Dunbar and the Baz was pleased with the results from the first hauling of the 2024 season.
After all the creels were in the water there was a special wildlife encounter as the Lynsey B headed back to harbour. Not only did Baz and Jeff see a porpoise, they also had a visit by two minke whales, which was an amazing sight.
Barry decides it's time to get back out onto the North Sea, so he starts to move the first five fleets of creels down to the harbour in preparation for a break in the weather to get them out to sea. Will the weather gods smile on the Lynsey B for once?
Another week of changeable weather has been keeping the Lynsey B tied to the harbour wall. In this video he talks about his family past, the present, where he gets a visit by The Female Fisherman Ashley Mullenger, and the future following the recent announcement by the Scottish Government.
With the Lynsey B back on the water the plan was to some sea trials and then get back to work. However, with northerly winds producing some heavy swell off the East Lothian coast, the plan had to change.
Earlier today we did our first live broadcast as Barry took the Lynsey B from Cromwell Harbour through to Victoria Harbour to stretch the boats legs a bit after being tied up in harbour for two weeks since the launch.
A bit of spring weather in Dunbar has allowed Barry to take the Lynsey B out of Cromwell Harbour to stretch her legs after nearly seven months.
After several months on the quayside and many man-hours of work by Barry to get her shipshape, the Lynsey B's keel gets wet once again.
